Both artists and cheese makers share the desire to cultivate rare traits and qualities specific to a type or medium, to enhance quality of life, and to capture the essence of a place and an environment.

Cheese functioned as an opportunity for tasting and conversation about anything from personal cheese stories; the history of cheese production; to how a bowling ball, some wax, and a gallon of milk from the corner grocery can be utilized to produce a Ricotta or a Gruyere.
This was an opportunity for the kind of serendipitous moments which mark the discovery and development of cheese itself -- personifying the necessity for inefficiency, and allowing for accidental discoveries of things not searched for.
