Mis-Adventures on the High Seas

An old wooden boat functioned as a catalyst for on shore collaborations and a bastion of independence and possibility while on the high seas. September 7th, 2006, the Hi Chinook was purchased from Max in Takoma, Washington. The crew was unknown at the time but that changed quickly as we took charge of our vessle. The goal was to sail down to San Francisco, where I was planning to live aboard (anchoring illegally off of third street, inbetween cruize ships and destroyers). What ended up happening was an exploration of what it means to be exist between, to drift between absolute poverty and extreme wealth. In the last of the global commons, the international boundary waters, we were our own state, free and self sufficient.
